HIC ET NUNC
Technique: Photographs printed with translucency on 10 mm acrylic directly, Acrylic mounted or supported on an aluminum structure. Measurements: 2 meters base X 3 meters high.
The closest and most static horizon I see is the building I observe every morning, every night, every day.
It is called Citadel and the still image that I see from my balcony is the one that captures me the most, immersing me in the spirit of the film “Empire State Building” (Andy Warhol, 1964).
In the development of the work, an almost human contact with the environment is generated, allowing me to hear my own voice from confinement.
“Hic et Nunc” is constructed from 1,504 photographs in dialogue with the number of windows on the building’s façade, always taken from the same point with the same frame.
The direct shots are all taken from the window of my home in the Palacio Salvo during the pandemic.
From the photographs arranged chronologically, the lighting study that I propose emerges; the contemplation of the passage of time is the essential theme of this work in moments of continuous acceleration.
From Impressionism I take the evolution of light, mirroring the master Monet in the Rouen Cathedrals series.
